Lower Extremities

Our lower extremities are the foundation for our body and are designed to be the strongest parts of our body. They are essential in maintaining proper body mechanics during activities including walking, running, balancing, climbing, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting. Strong and flexible lower extremities are essential as a solid foundation to allow use of proper body mechanics for work tasks, as well as daily and recreational activities. The therapists at The Work Center are skilled in treating lower extremity dysfunctions and injuries, as well as educating workers on proper body mechanics and preventative measures to reduce risk of injury. We treat acute, subacute, chronic, and post-operative lower extremity conditions with the goal of returning the injured worker back to work. These conditions are treated with manual techniques, stretching, active and resistive exercises, balance tasks, proprioceptive training, modalities, and functional activities.
